Farm Forward reviewed more than a thousand videos and photos, conducted extensive interviews with whistleblowers, and witnessed conditions on Alexandre farms firsthand. What emerged was a pattern of systematic welfare and environmental issues, driven from the top.<\/p>\n<p>Our report was covered in detail in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theatlantic.com\/ideas\/archive\/2024\/04\/alexandre-farms-treatment-of-animals\/677980\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>The Atlantic<\/em><\/a> by political and economic reporter Annie Lowrey.<\/p>\n<p><strong>In the week following our posting the report, much happened, including:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Annie Lowrey\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AnnieLowrey\/status\/1778777711793619162\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tweet<\/a> about <em>The<\/em> <em>Atlantic<\/em>\u2019s article received over 1 million views.<\/li>\n<li><em>The Atlantic<\/em>\u2019s editors selected and publicized the story as the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theatlantic.com\/category\/one-story-read-today\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">One Story to Read Today<\/a>.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>All Alexandre products had been removed from the ASPCA\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aspca.org\/shopwithyourheart\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Shop With Your Heart<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>All Alexandre products had been removed from <a href=\"http:\/\/findhumane.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">FindHumane.com<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Alec\u2019s Ice Cream, which relies on Alexandre dairy, appeared to have <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20240419224159\/https:\/www.alecsicecream.com\/pages\/our-impact\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">taken down<\/a> and removed from its site navigation its <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20240130231117\/https:\/www.alecsicecream.com\/pages\/our-impact\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Our Impact<\/a> page, which claimed that regenerative farming \u201cimproves the lives of animals,\u201d that your eating Alec\u2019s Ice Cream is \u201cpositively changing our planet for a better future,\u201d and that Alexandre is \u201cproving that cows actually help reverse climate change.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Whole Foods Market appeared to have <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20240419223523\/https:\/wholestory.wholefoodsmarket.com\/restarting-dairy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">taken down<\/a> its <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20240106005106\/https:\/wholestory.wholefoodsmarket.com\/restarting-dairy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Restarting Dairy<\/a> page, which referred to the Alexandres as \u201cenvironmental stewards,\u201d proudly noted that \u201cWhole Foods Market has been working with the Alexandres for over a decade,\u201d and included a video showing hundreds of calf hutches in which Alexandre admits isolating baby cows for months\u2014with no relief and no ability to set one foot outside\u2014as its standard practice.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Farm Forward is heartened to know that so many in the public, in other advocacy groups, and even among major companies, are already taking our investigation\u2019s extensive, detailed, and highly concerning <a href=\"https:\/\/www.farmforward.com\/publications\/dairy-deception-corruption-and-consumer-fraud\/\">findings <\/a>seriously.<\/p>\n<p>Stay tuned in and <a
